Formula 1 Dan up for Top Gear challenge
FORMULA 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is set to take on some of the all-time racing greats by tackling the star in a reasonably priced car challenge on Top Gear.
The Red Bull team member – who finished third in the 2014 Drivers’ World Championship – will hit the show’s track in Surrey for the third episode of the series.
Australian Ricciardo, 25, will be aiming to top the F1 drivers’ leader board on the BBC2 programme, which is currently led by Lewis Hamilton with a record time he set two years ago.
Other major names from the professional driving circuit who have taken the challenge include Damon Hill, Rubens Barrichello, Nigel Mansell and Sebastian Vettel.
The programme has a separate leader board for F1 stars, who have all competed in a Suzuki Liana, while the celeb contestants have used a number of different models.
Ricciardo, who clocked up three Grand Prix wins last season, will be seen on the show on February 8.
The new series of Top Gear kicked off on Sunday with non-driver Ed Sheeran spinning off the track during his first time at the wheel.
