Cheggers dropped his pants – but nobody laughed!
HATS off to Channel 5 and the
team for providing the TV moment of the year so far.
On Saturday night they showed Keith Chegwin desperately trying to make his housemates laugh – and failing miserably.

But this was different. The lovable Scouser had been given a “secret” task to make his housemates chortle. What he didn’t realise is that they all KNEW about his mission and had been ordered not to laugh at any of his gags.
The compilation that followed, set to a sad piano score, was pure poetry.
An increasingly desperate Cheggers traipsed around the house, scraping the bottom of his joke barrel like never before.
At one point – I shit you not – he went to the extreme of deliberately making his trousers fall down.
Anyone who remembers his, ahem, part in the game show will know why that should have raised a laugh.
As a spectacle, this episode was far crueller than any of the shouty “bullying” bore-fest that has dominated the show to date – and much funnier.
