Woman ‘tried to kill kids to shut them up’
A WOMAN accused of trying to kill her three small children has told detectives she cut their throats with a kitchen knife to keep them quiet for her soldier husband.
Christina Booth, 29, said in the police interview that her husband never helped her with the six-month-old twins and the two-year-old and got “very annoyed” when they cried, court papers say.
She was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder in Olympia, Washington, USA.
Bail was set at three million dollars. The Thurston County prosecutor’s office said she had not yet been formally charged.
The children were said to be in a stable condition after undergoing surgery and have now been placed in the custody of the state’s child protective services.
The court papers said Booth’s husband Thomas told police his wife was being treated for post-natal depression.
The sergeant said his wife’s behaviour had changed after he returned from a tour of Afghanistan.
