MURRAY TO BE YAYA’S MENTOR
YAYA SANOGO has been urged to learn his trade from Crystal Palace strike partner Glenn Murray.
The rookie Frenchman is on loan at Selhurst Park from Arsenal for the rest of the season.
And Eagles boss Alan Pardew is convinced the help from Murray can aid the development of Sanogo, who turned 22 yesterday, in a major way.
Pardew said: “You have got to learn to hold it in, buy free-kicks.
“He has got a great mentor here in Glenn Murray. Glenn is the master of that No.9 role in terms of those little tricks you need.
“It is difficult to play for Arsenal when you are 21, particularly as a striker.
“He is going to learn and I think that is where Arsene Wenger thought it was a good opportunity for him.”
Palace team-mate Scott Dann has backed Sanogo (left) to build on his opening goal for the club in the 3-2 FA Cup win at Southampton.
“He has got better with every game and given us the platform to build on,” said Dann. “I think he can score in the Premier League.
“He has not played many games for Arsenal, but he has shown he can get into those positions.”
