Samuel Eto’o has left the Toffees and joined Italians Sampdoria on a two-and-a-half year deal. BESI MATES: Martinez
is impressed by new Toffee Muhamed Besic EVERTON manager Roberto Martinez is backing Muhamed Besic to become a Goodison star.
The impact of Besic has been one of the few bright spots in a frustrating season for the Toffees since his signing from Hungarian club Ferencvaros.
The Bosnia international has become a crowd favourite with his committed performances in a midfield holding role.
And Martinez, who landed the 22-year-old for a bargain £5million, believes he will only get better after being converted from a central defender.
Martinez insisted: “Muhamed is still a player that is shaping up his qualities.
“Since coming here, he has taken massive strides in improving his tactical awareness.
“Something he will never be short of is technical ability, ball control and his passing range.
