MIKE ASHLEY has been accused of insulting the Toon Army after putting John Carver in charge for the rest of the season.
Carver has been told to carry on as caretaker boss until the summer, when Newcastle hope to appoint a permanent boss, with Dutchman Frank de Boer and Derby’s ex-England manager Steve McClaren top of their hit-list. Worried Magpies supporters fear the Geordies could be dragged into a relegation battle unless Carver can engineer a quick turnaround in results.
