City are desperate for Toure and Bony to get dumped in Cup and race back for Chelsea clash
MAN CITY’S title hopes will be decided in central Africa tonight as they prepare to deliver an SOS to Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony.
The champions travel to leaders Chelsea for a make-or-break Premier League clash on Saturday, with defeat leaving them a massive eight points behind Jose Mourinho’s men and possibly with no way back.
Boss Manuel Pellegrini can’t afford another slip-up after seeing his side drop five points in their last two games and then crash out of the FA Cup to Middlesbrough.
And so City will rush back Toure and new signing Bony if their Ivory
Coast team is dumped out of the Africa Cup of Nations tonight.
The Elephants were among the favourites for the tournament, but after drawing their opening two games they will be knocked out if they lose to Cameroon.
That would free up Toure and Bony to play at Stamford Bridge as City pull out all the stops to get them back in time to prepare for the game.
City have not won a league game without Toure in their side since April. And after seeing his side fail to score in their last two games, Pellegrini will have no qualms about pitching Bony, a £25million buy from Swansea, straight into the fray. WE NEED YOU! Pellegrini
will play Toure and Bony against Chelsea if they get knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast tonight
