Yob jailed for Jezza fire threat

A THUG who vowed to “burn out” his for­mer part­ner on an episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show has been jailed for set­ting fire to her house.

Carl Web­ster, of Rad­ford, Not­ting­ham, made the sick­en­ing threats on the ITV show af­ter a DNA test proved he was the fa­ther of his ex’s child.

Luck­ily, no-one was in­jured in the blaze, but the 25-year-old ad­mit­ted ar­son and has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.

Not­ting­ham Crown Court heard Web­ster told Kyle that he had threat­ened to burn his son alive.

The show was never aired and the woman didn’t con­tact po­lice as she didn’t take the threats se­ri­ously.

But, two days af­ter film­ing in Novem­ber last year, Web­ster sent her a mes­sage say­ing, “I’m do­ing what I said I’m go­ing to do”, be­fore he set fire to an elec­tric­ity box at the woman’s home.

Po­lice said that, on his ar­rest, Web­ster told of­fi­cers there would not be a court case, but three fu­ner­als in­stead. The film was based on a novel by Peter Bench­ley. When he couldn’t think of a ti­tle, his
