Daley’s got Blind faith in United

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

DALEY BLIND has assured doubting Manchester United fans that Louis Van Gaal is the right man to bring the title back to Old Trafford.

The Dutch midfielder — who has also been playing at the back for the Reds — promises the faithful that they will clinch a Champions League spot for next season.

And he says the club can use that as a springboard to win the Premier League title next season — a claim that has been echoed by his manager.

It’s fair to say that the honeymoon is over for Van Gaal and a growing number of United fans wonder if his cautious approach is right for the club.

After looking to have turned a corner, the Reds have now lost three league matches on the bounce and have been short of goals.

They sit in fourth but that’s only down to Liverpool’s slump rather than their own work. that it makes you better and that it makes you a better team.

“I think everybody has realised that now.”

Blind is calling for unity on and off the pitch as United make their final push for that all-important top four place.

Consigning Liverpool to the Europa League is his goal.

He added: “It’s very important that we have stuck together as a team for the whole season, even when it’s not going so well.

“I am confident and the team is also very confident. We said a few weeks ago before the run of top games that they are all finals — and that’s still the same.”
