BINGE drink­ing, vi­o­lent crime and drink-driv­ing ac­ci­dents have de­creased since the re­lax­ing of li­cens­ing laws a decade ago, a new re­port shows.

And there has NOT been a rise in al­co­hol A&E ad­mis­sions or in al­co­hol-re­lated deaths.

Fig­ures show al­co­hol con­sump­tion per capita fell by 17 per cent be­tween 2005 and 2013, the big­gest decline since the 1930s.
