‘Scissors penis snip’ crimper is cleared
A HAIRDRESSER accused of slicing her boyfriend’s penis with a pair of SCISSORS has walked free from court after he refused to testify against her.
Helen Smith, 48, allegedly snipped boyfriend Stuart Cooper in the genitals last August.
Smith (above), from Cardenden, Fife, denied the charges and was due to face trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday.
But her former partner failed to turn up to the hearing having been “reluctant” for the case to go forward, it was claimed.
Prosecuting, Azra Yousaff tried to adjourn the case due to his absence.
But that failed when Smith’s lawyer revealed she’d received a letter from Cooper pleading for the case to be dropped.
“I have a letter that the complainer wrote to my firm,” she said.
“He said he made no complaint or statement, and he had no wish for the matter to proceed.”
She also claimed the “enormous pressure due to media coverage” on Smith had left her unable to work.
