The German is expected to be named as the new Kop boss by the weekend.

And he’ll have to get cracking straight away to keep Phillipe Coutinho at Anfield.

Credible reports in Spain are linking Liverpool’s Brazilian schemer with a £50million move to Barcelona — and it could happen in JANUARY.

Last week, Coutinho said he was only focussed on staying with the Reds and that he loved life on Merseyside.

But he’s already whistling a different tune and is most definitely open to following Luis Suarez to the Catalan giants.

Losing Coutinho would be a major blow to Klopp, who faces massive expectations if and when he succeeds Brendan Rodgers.

The former Borussia Dortmund chief is on the verge of a three-year deal to take over at Anfield.

The club’s American owners want him in place before Liverpool take on Tottenham after the international break.

Karl-Heinz Riedle played for the Reds and Dortmund and he thinks Klopp is the right man.

He said: “He is right 100 per cent for Liverpool. The two clubs are similar in terms of the fans.”
