Gay ‘killer’s’ parents ‘just can’t bear it’
THE elderly father of a man accused of being a gay serial killer has told how he and his wife cannot bear to hear the details of the alleged murders.
Stephen Port ( above), 40, is accused of drugging and murdering four young men he met on gay websites.
Speaking from his home in Dagenham, east London, his father Albert, 73, said he took his son some money and books, including a magazine about space, to the police station on Sunday night but has not spoken to him since.
He told reporters: “We’re trying not to think about it because of our ages. We just can’t take it. The less we know the better.
“The police haven’t told us nothing because we’re elderly.”
Port, of Barking, east London, was charged on Monday with four counts of murder.
He is due to appear at the Old Bailey today.
