Lotto sales high of £3.6 billion!
CAMELOT awarded a record amount of prize money over the last six months, while its ticket sales hit £3.6 BILLION – an increase of £145m on a year ago.
The lottery operator said its prize money in the half-year to September 26 totalled just over £2bn, an increase of £86.2m year-on-year, adding to the more than 4,000 millionaires the firm has made since its launch back in 1994.
The improvement follows the relaunch of the flagship Lotto game in October 2013, with £2 tickets and increases in the prize pool, which have contributed to higher sales.
Camelot also operates Thunderball and the EuroMillions as well as around 60 scratchcard and online instant win games.
It also generated £875m for National Lottery Good Causes.
