Kayak victim on beach is named
A KAYAKER whose body was identified more than a month after it was found on an Isle of Wight beach has been named.
The dead man has been identified as Morgan Savage, 40, from Dublin.
His body was found on Yaverland beach on September 11 but his identity had baffled Hampshire Police – although the force said earlier his next-of-kin had finally been located and informed of his death.
Mr Savage was last seen at Brighton Canoes, in Newhaven, East Sussex, at 4pm on September 8.
The kayak was a yellow and black “blow up” Sevylor Conrad.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “A post-mortem, which was carried out on September 24, was inconclusive. The coroner is awaiting histology results.”
