Riff guide to Hendrix home
THE London home of legendary 1960s rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix will be opened permanently to the public in 2016.
The property – at 23 Brook Street in Mayfair – will be the only former Hendrix property in the world open to the public from February.
It is next to Handel House, where baroque composer George Frideric Handel lived for 36 years during the mid-1700s.
Visitors can explore the top floor of Hendrix’s flat following a £2.4million restoration project.
Hendrix moved there in July 1968. The Handel & Hendrix exhibition will trace his life in London in 1968 and 1969.
Alistair Stranack, chairman of the Handel House Trust, said: “It is hard to think of another home in the world with such a concentration of musical genius.”
