X-Files Gillian: Bosses wanted bigger boobs!
THE oh-so-right-on magazine won a few gold stars from the diversity fairies last week with the cover of its 2016 Hollywood issue.
In contrast to the Oscars – under fire for the lack of any minority nominees – the Vanity Fair cover features actresses from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds.
The host of Hollywood stars who posed for the cover of the iconic issue are: Jane Fonda, Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlotte Rampling, Brie Larsen, Rachel Weisz, Lupita Nyong’o, Alicia Vikander, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Helen Mirren, Saoirse Ronan, and Diane Keaton.
And to celebrate Vanity Fair’s championing of diversity, Sunday Sport bring you a selection of the cover babes with their various bits on show… I’M GONNA CLIMAX FOR YOU! GORGEOUS Gillian Anderson was once told her boobs were TOO SMALL for TV.
The blonde actress said The X-Files bosses slammed her figure when she first auditioned for the sci-fi show.
But despite the crude comments, series creator Chris Carter loved her and signed her anyway.
Gillian, 47, said: “Chris gave me the part against the wishes of the studio – who wanted a big-breasted blonde.
“That’s the only way they knew how to market television. But I’m no bimbo so I told them to take it or leave it.
“No-one expected The X-Files to have been such a success but we were so grateful that it was.”
Gillian, who found fame around the world as FBI special agent Dana Scully in the alien drama, has this week reprised her role for six new episodes – more than 13 years after the original run ended.
Catch the new series on Mondays, Channel 5, at 9pm.
