Doctor jailed for bunker hostage
A DOCTOR has been caged for 10 years for abducting a woman and locking her in a homemade bunker.
Martin Trenneborg, 38, planned the abduction over a long period of time and subjected the victim to serious risk by sedating her and keeping her locked up in a soundproof bunker – built inside a machine shed next to his home – for a week.
At Stockholm District Court, he admitted keeping the woman locked in the bunker but denied having kidnapped or raped her.
Trenneborg, who was acquitted of charges of aggravated rape, claimed he was suffering a mental disorder at the time.
However the court described the doctor’s mental disorder as “not serious” and he was also ordered to pay £15,000 in damages to the woman.
