A £1 MILLION National Lottery scratchcard winner got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend as soon as the windfall was confirmed.

Andrew Cunliffe, 37, bought the £100 Million Cash Spectacular Orange card in an Asda store while rushing to get tea bags for his workmates.

Mr Cunliffe, a building site manager, is now planning his wedding with Natalie Cliff, 30 – an event planner at Blackpool Tower.

Andrew said: “We called Camelot and as soon as the lady on the end of the phone confirmed I really was £1 million richer, I just got down on one knee and proposed.

“It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time but I always worried I would not be able to give Natalie the wedding of her dreams.

“Now I can.”
