Was an­other one of my pre­vi­ous em­ploy­ment berths a proper job or an oc­ca­sional one?

Be­cause I couldn’t pro­vide an ed­u­ca­tion diploma or any­thing of the sort, they re­sorted to some­thing that I reckon prob­a­bly would have done in the first place – a let­ter from some­one of­fi­cially im­por­tant con­firm­ing that I was not, in fact, serial killer Fred West.

Next up was to set a date to fly over and sign a piece of pa­per or two.

But again, this couldn’t be done through email or a phone call, it had to be done on that sod­ding web­site again. But the web­site wouldn’t ac­cept my de­tails as – even though I’d fol­lowed the link within se­conds of it hit­ting my in­box – it was “too near” to the con­tract start­ing.

Not to worry, though. This or­gan­i­sa­tion only wants to run a Europe-wide army and tell you what to do with your lives.
