Going naked is ‘dying out’
NUDISM is in danger of dying out because social media and magazines have made younger people ‘too scared’ to get their kit off in public.
Experts have seen a sharp drop in the number of youngsters signing up to become naturists and they are blaming body-consciousness.
Daniel Jackson, 51, secretary of the Van Tan Club – a nudist colony in Vancouver, Canada – said: “It’s an older group.
“People who join tend to be older. You would say that the emphasis is on older, wiser people, who in their own minds, probably have a lot less to lose.
“Look at the social and body image pressures younger folks face, and I think there is a lot of confusion as to what the naked body is all about.
“It would be nice to have younger people around or we won’t be around forever.”
