BRAINY babe Rachel Riley has been forced to reveal her BUMHOLE to millions of viewers.

Sadly it wasn’t the blonde babe’s actual rusty sheriff’s badge on show – she just spelled out the word.

It happened when boffin Susie Dent was embarrassed to admit to host Nick Hewer she was able to beat a contestant’s five-letter offering of ‘bulge’.

The audience was in fits of giggles when Rachel was forced to spell out the rude word, which would have scored seven points.

It was discovered by Susie who was accompanied in Dictionary Corner by celeb Janet Street-Porter, who refused to spell out the word to host Nick and said: “I can’t say it.”

So Susie had to admit: “OK, lets get it over quickly. ‘Bumhole’ is there.”

Nick raised an eyebrow and asked: “Bumhole? It’s going to be one of those days is it?”

A Channel 4 source said: “This was embarrassing, but it’s a real word and deserves its place.

“It’s surprising this kind of thing doesn’t happen more often.

“It might be an idea to get a few more rude words in because it certainly gives the show a publicity boost.”

And the word certainly caused a stir on social media.

Callum Chetwynd posted on Twitter: “Why has the word ‘ bumhole’ just been used on Countdown? And who knew it was one word!”

Ben Walton added: “This actually happened on Countdown today...the real one, not the @jimmycarr one! #bumhole #immature.”
