Man ar­rested over fa­tal cafe stab­bing

A MUR­DER in­ves­ti­ga­tion has been launched after a man was stabbed to death at a north-west London cafe.

The 48-year-old was knifed at Efes Cafe in Kil­burn at around 7pm on Mon­day.

He was taken to hos­pi­tal but died just over an hour later. His fam­ily have been told.

A 21-year-old man was ar­rested at the scene and taken to a po­lice sta­tion in north London, Scot­land Yard said.

De­tec­tives know who the vic­tim is, but for­mal iden­ti­fi­ca­tion has not yet taken place.

Man­ager of the nearby Good Ship, John McCooke, said three of his staff had seen the at­tack.

He said: “A young guy stabbed the owner. A cou­ple of pen­sion­ers tried to fight him off and one was cov­ered in blood.”
