Jonathan Creek takes on Daemons

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

ALAN Davies will return to the role of Jonathan Creek for a new 90-minute special of the mystery crime drama series.

Jonathan Creek, written by David Renwick, first aired in 1997 and stars Davies as the title character, a creative consultant to a stage magician who solves seemingly supernatural mysteries. The new episode will be titled Daemons’ Roost.

QI star Davies ( above) said fans can expect the “spookiest episode ever”.

In it, viewers will meet veteran horror film director Nathan Clore, who lives in a house once occupied by a 19th century sorcerer who would summon the powers of hell to terrorise his victims.

Nathan wants to reveal the truth to his stepdaughter Alison and summons her to the house, but before her arrival he is left paralysed by a stroke.

Jonathan is called in to uncover the truth – but as the story unfolds, the grim rituals that were once enacted in Daemons’ Roost are frighteningly revived. IN October 2008, inflation in Zimbabwe reached 231,000,000 per cent
