Pogba transfer tweet is condemned
AN online bookie has sent a sick tweet comparing Paul Pogba’s transfer to Man Utd with the disappearance of Maddie McCann. Fruity King Casino said the call to let the French midfielder go to Juventus for free before buying him back for £109million was “worse” than the decision made by Maddie’s parents to leave her alone on the night that she went missing.
The three-year-old vanished from the family’s Portugal holiday apartment in 2007 while her parents Kate and Gerry McCann were out for dinner nearby.
The tweet said: “Letting Poga go on a free, then buying him back @100m euros. Worst decision since the McCanns went for dinner. #Pogback”
Outraged Twitter users slammed the bookies as “disgusting” for making fun of an abducted child.
Fruity King has a history of controversial marketing ploys.
Earlier this year it compared Leicester striker Jamie Vardy to a holocaust victim.
It put up a prison cell outside the King Power Stadium in Leicester to “welcome” new signing Troy Deeney – who had served time for assault.
And the bookie was also criticised after mocking the weight of Man City footballer Yaya Toure’s wife.
