Woman killed by gen­er­a­tor

A WOMAN has died af­ter she was crushed by a gen­er­a­tor which fell off the back of a lorry.

Emma Beeney, 40, was walk­ing her hus­band Rob to work early yes­ter­day morn­ing when she was fa­tally struck out­side the vil­lage church in Etch­ing­ham, East Sus­sex.

A po­lice spokesman said: “Emer­gency ser­vices were called to a re­port of a gen­er­a­tor hav­ing fallen off a Ford Tran­sit flatbed lorry and hit­ting two pedes­tri­ans near the rail­way sta­tion in Etch­ing­ham, East Sus­sex, at 6.55am on Mon­day.

“A 40-year-old woman sadly died at the scene. A man aged 44 also suf­fered se­ri­ous in­juries and was flown to the Royal Sus­sex County Hospi­tal, Brighton.”

The driver, from Ash­ford, Kent, has been re­leased on bail.
