REALITY star Lady Colin Campbell has leapt to the defence of axed contestant Christopher Biggins.

Biggins, 67, was removed from the house last week after controversial remarks attacking bisexuals, blaming them for the Aids virus, and also had a pop at Katie Waissel’s Jewish heritage, including a sick joke about concentration camps.

But Lady Colin, 66, who took part in last year, took to Facebook to defend her pal, saying: “Think poor Christopher Biggins is being mistreated in the most appalling way. Can this all have been a cynical ploy to exploit his profile and deprive him of his justly-earned fee?

“Why does the programme carry a warning about offensive comments if they then boot out their star turn (and most expensive housemate) for an opinion that is a one on a scale of 10. Even if it had been an 11, he should still be in the house, providing the entertainment that is his specialty, as the fact is, controversy is what

is all about. “Everyone who knows Christopher Biggins knows he is one of the nicest, kindest, most open-minded people. It’s his critics who are offensive. This is not Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia so can we please have more freedom of expression (which include the right to offend) and less of the repression the thought police are deploying.” REMARKABLE: Biggins and Lady C (
