A RYANAIR passenger ran onto the runway at a major airport to try and catch his flightter he missed the plane’s final boarding call.

In a major security breach, the man got past staff at the gate and jumped off the jet bridge with two bags in his hands – landing on the tarmac 10ft below – after the Boeing 737 had already pulled back from the terminal.

He sprinted across the apron to try and stop the plane from taking off without him, but was intercepted by stunned ground crew members at Madrid’s main international airport.

Footage of the bizarre incident was recorded by a ground crew member at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

Video shows the man nervously sitting on the edge of the jet bridge with his bags in tow before leaping off.

After landing on his feet he waves his hand in an attempt to flag down the plane and briefly speaks to a worker in a vehicle used to pull luggage carts.

The man runs towards his plane – putting himself in an incredibly dangerous situation as aircraft taxi to and from runways – but is stopped by two employees.

It was unclear last night whether the man was facing any charges for entering a restricted area.
