‘Stabbing’ trial for fell-runner
A FORMER fell-running champion charged with attempted murder is set to stand trial next month.
Lauren Jeska was not required to enter a plea when she appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via video-link from prison yesterday.
Jeska, 41, of Machynlleth, Powys, was charged in March with attempting to murder 51-year-old Ralph Knibbs at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.
West Midlands Police were called to the stadium at about 10.30am on March 22 after reports that a man had been stabbed.
Jeska is further charged with two counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on two other men, and possession of knives.
Her trial is listed for September 22.
