It’s a swift end for Corrie – oh no it’s not!
SOAP viewers were left bewildered when an ITV announcer told them Coronation Street had finished – just 15 minutes into the show.
The voiceover blunder came during the first of Monday’s two episodes, when fans were told the show was over as it cut to an ad break.
Corrie airs at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Mondays, but 15 minutes into the first episode the announcer said: “Return to Coronation Street half-an-hour.”
Viewers had been waiting to see a dramatic development in Maria Connor’s storyline as former pal Caz Hammond is fitting her up for Caz’s apparent disappearance.
As the programme cut to a break, Maria – played by Samia Ghadie (above) – was shown hesitating over whether to go inside her flat, not realising Caz was hiding just inside the doorway.
One viewer tweeted: “I’m pretty sure there’s still another 15 minutes of #Corrie to go, @itv voiceover guy.” in
