Carole: My Luke warm date with Star Wars George

SONGWRITER Carole Bayer Sager branded her date with Star Wars creator George Lucas as a DISASTER.

She’s written more than 400 songs for the likes of Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross but 69-year-old Carole recalled George Lucas as her worst celebrity encounter.

The lyricist was set up on a date with the 72-year-old filmmaker by their mutual friend Carrie Fisher, but she branded him a “weird recluse”.

Carole said: “Carrie fixed me up with George, who took me to a French restaurant in San Francisco. He asked me what type of wine I preferred – the last question he would ask me all night.

“Two hours later, I knew more about his 3,000-acre Skywalker Ranch home than I did about my own.

“He hated LA, so he had created his own world he’d never have to leave.

“When we parted, he awkwardly gave me a dry, mechanical kiss on my lips – worthy of R2-D2.”
