Kate: Female PM is a good thing for UK
SINGER Kate Bush has praised Theresa May as “wonderful” and said having a female prime minister is “the best thing that’s happened” in the UK for a long time.
The elusive star shared her views on Mrs May while discussing her song
which she previously described as being about the “fear of women’s power”.
Asked by Canadian magazine about the topic of fear being “stronger than ever” following Hillary Clinton’s recent plight in the US election, she opened up about the UK’s “sensible” female prime minister.
Kate, 58, said: “I really like her and think she’s wonderful. I think it’s the best thing that’s happened to the UK in a long time.
“It is great to have a woman in charge of the country. She’s sensible – that’s a good thing.” FORMER supermodel Jodie Kidd has no regrets about turning down the chance to host
The 38-year-old motoring fanatic was asked to front the BBC show after former presenter Jeremy Clarkson got the boot last year.
Blonde Jodie was top of the list to present the show, alongside Chris Evans, after Hammond and May followed Clarkson out of the door.
But Jodie, who has also tried her hand as a racing driver, turned down the job after claiming she wanted to spend some time out of the limelight.
She said: “I wouldn’t have wanted to get caught up in all that.
“They were talking about three-year contracts with 50 shows.
“It just didn’t feel right.”
