Glenda wows critics as King Lear
OSCAR-winning actress and former MP Glenda Jackson has won a Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for her performance as King Lear, her first stage role in 25 years.
Jackson, 80, received glowing reviews for her leading role in the production at London’s Old Vic theatre.
She picked up the Trewin award for best Shakespearean performance at the ceremony, where winners were chosen by critics.
It was her first play since giving up acting for politics.
