Deputy head ‘got drunk teen to grope him in park’
A DEPUTY head got a 16-year-old girl drunk in a park before getting her to grope him “sexually”, a disciplinary hearing was told.
Jonathan Norbury, 35, allegedly got the teen to strip naked before “making her” walk home in the early hours of the morning.
A hearing was told Norbury accepted the open-air sex session with the girl but said she was over 18 and a “willing participant.”
Case Presenter Cadi Dewi asked Norbury: “Taking her into the woods when she was just 16, getting her drunk on alcohol, taking her clothes off, engaging in sexual touching then making her walk home at midnight – would you say this is unacceptable professional misconduct?”
Norbury, who faces six allegations relating to three teenage girls, said: “If she was under 18, yes. But she was over the age of 18.”
Dad-of-three Norbury added: “She was a willing participant. There was no force.”
Norbury told the Education Workforce Council hearing in Cardiff he’d been in a short-term relationship with the girl before it “fizzled out.”
Norbury, of Swansea, denies he had sexual contact with the three girls between 2005 and 2008 while they were underage.
