Man held over Frank son’s death

NIGHT OUT OF OR­DER: Tess with Jeremy in Dublin A MAN has been ar­rested over a crash in which the son of Frank Side­bot­tom cre­ator Chris Sievey died.

Harry Sievey ( above), 24, was one of two cy­clists in­volved in a col­li­sion with a Corsa in Withing­ton, Manchester, on Sun­day night.

On­line trib­utes have been paid to the pop­u­lar mu­si­cian, whose late fa­ther found fame in the 1980s with the dis­tinc­tive com­edy char­ac­ter and his large pa­pier mâché head.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses to the in­ci­dent af­ter they ar­rested a 61-year-old man on sus­pi­cion of caus­ing death by dan­ger­ous driv­ing.

The crash hap­pened shortly be­fore 10.15pm, and the other cy­clist, in his 20s, was taken to hos­pi­tal with mi­nor in­juries.

Sgt Lee West­head of Greater Manchester Po­lice said: “We are cur­rently in­ves­ti­gat­ing the full cir­cum­stances of this col­li­sion.

“It is key we now try and es­tab­lish ex­actly what hap­pened and I would urge any­one who saw the col­li­sion to please call my team.” THE but­ton was in­vented more than 1,000 years be­fore the but­ton­hole.
