Jail for scis­sors stab at­tacker who blinded vic­tim, 17

A TEENAGER who left a boy blind in one eye af­ter stab­bing him with a pair of SCIS­SORS dur­ing a col­lege les­son has been jailed for nine years.

Michael Jones, 18, from Widnes, Cheshire, pleaded guilty to griev­ous bodily harm and hav­ing an of­fen­sive weapon.

Liver­pool Crown Court heard Jones and two friends – Jamie Grimes, 17, and Lewis Con­nor, 18 – had an on­go­ing dis­pute with the 17-year-old vic­tim and went in search of him at River­side Col­lege in Widnes.

Jones (above) walked into a class­room where a les­son was tak­ing place and at­tacked the boy with scis­sors, stab­bing him in the eye, chest and hand.

Grimes, who re­peat­edly hit the vic­tim, was sen­tenced to five years af­ter ad­mit­ting caus­ing griev­ous bodily harm with in­tent.

Con­nor was given a 12-month com­mu­nity or­der for us­ing ag­gres­sive lan­guage in a threat­en­ing man­ner. AS­TRO­NAUTS are not al­lowed to eat beans be­fore they go into space as pass­ing wind dam­ages their space­suits.
