Cor­den telly ads banned

AC­TOR James Cor­den’s ads for price com­par­i­son site have been banned, over claims about the amount of cash cus­tomers could save.

The Google, email, TV, web­site and press ads all claimed the web­site is “No.1 for car sav­ings”, lead­ing to a com­plaint from ri­val that the mes­sage gave the im­pres­sion con­sumers would save more money with than its com­peti­tors.

The Ad­ver­tis­ing Stan­dards Au­thor­ity ruled that the ads must not ap­pear again in their cur­rent form.
