Ex-lover in court over car park knife killing of blonde
STUDENT: Molly McLaren THE ex-boyfriend of a woman who died after her throat was slashed in a shopping centre car park has appeared in court accused of murder.
Joshua Stimpson, 25, is alleged to have attacked university student Molly McLaren in her Citroen C1 car at Chatham Dockside outlet centre in Kent last week.
The pair are said to have been in a relationship at the end of last year, but Molly’s Facebook page stated she was single at the time of her death.
Stimpson appeared at Maidstone Crown Court in Kent yesterday via videolink from HMP Elmley on the Isle of Sheppey.
He spoke only to confirm his name during the brief hearing. local pub, The Leather Bottle.
Stimpson, of Wouldham, near Rochester, is due to appear in court again on September 18.
He was remanded in custody until that date.
The case has also been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which will look into Molly’s contact with officers before her death.
