Sainsbury’s man ‘laughed after goosing’

-

A SAINSBURY’S worker thrust his hand up a legal assistant’s skirt as she travelled home from a West End musical and ran off laughing, a court heard.

Edward Boateng, 20 ( above), is said to have groped the alleged victim from behind as she climbed the steps leaving Clapham Common underground station, south London.

As the woman screamed in shock and pulled her dress down she heard her attacker cackling as he ran away, jurors were told.

Boateng was later identified from CCTV footage at the station, but he told arresting police officers he was running because he was late for work at a nearby Sainsbury’s, on August 20 last year.

Prosecutor Gabrielle McAvock said: “As she went to walk off the top step and on to the pavement she felt a hand reach up under her dress between her legs and touch her underwear.”

CCTV footage shows Boateng right behind the woman at the time of the sexual assault, jurors heard.

Boateng, of Wood Green, north London, denies one count of sexual assault

The trial continues.
