Sains­bury’s man ‘laughed af­ter goos­ing’

A SAINS­BURY’S worker thrust his hand up a le­gal as­sis­tant’s skirt as she trav­elled home from a West End mu­si­cal and ran off laugh­ing, a court heard.

Ed­ward Boateng, 20 ( above), is said to have groped the al­leged vic­tim from be­hind as she climbed the steps leav­ing Clapham Com­mon un­der­ground sta­tion, south Lon­don.

As the woman screamed in shock and pulled her dress down she heard her at­tacker cack­ling as he ran away, ju­rors were told.

Boateng was later iden­ti­fied from CCTV footage at the sta­tion, but he told ar­rest­ing po­lice of­fi­cers he was run­ning be­cause he was late for work at a nearby Sains­bury’s, on Au­gust 20 last year.

Prose­cu­tor Gabrielle McAvock said: “As she went to walk off the top step and on to the pave­ment she felt a hand reach up un­der her dress be­tween her legs and touch her un­der­wear.”

CCTV footage shows Boateng right be­hind the woman at the time of the sex­ual as­sault, ju­rors heard.
