Davina: Love Island is like early Big Bro

FORMER Big Brother host Davina McCall is a fan of rival reality series Love Island.

The 49-year-old telly babe ( above), who presented Big Bro for 10 years, revealed she is hooked on the ITV2 dating show – along with the rest of Britain.

And Davina reckons the key to Love Island’s success is that it has managed to emulate the ‘buzz’ that BB used to create.

She said: “Love Island is what Big Brother used to be. It’s got such an amazing buzz about it – I love it!

“Everybody is talking about it and I love it when that happens.”

Love Island has absolutely smashed Channel 5’s Big Brother in the TV ratings, as they are both shown daily.

And the competition is so rife between the two programmes, the producers of Love Island are rumoured to have extended the show by four days – so that the final lands on the same day that Big Brother ends.
