Bobbies turn to blue for a decent sleep

-

NINE out of 10 police workers say they have trouble sleeping at night, according to a survey.

And 20 per cent of those questioned said they like to close the door behind them and be alone when they get home from work, the research commissioned by Police Mutual found.

The poll looked at the importance of the home as the place to unwind for serving police workers, and discovered they found BLUE – the shade they are most associated with – the most relaxing paint colour.

This is in contrast to the general population who find that magnolia walls help them feel most relaxed.

Although one in five like to spend their post-work time chilling out in the bedroom, 90% said they struggle to get to sleep or wake in the middle of the night.

The study for Police Mutual, the not-for-profit financial services organisation for the police family, saw 1,575 people questioned online by researchers 3gem.
