Chinese pooh-pooh Pooh
CHILDREN’S character Winnie the Pooh has been blacklisted by government officials in China.
The honey-loving bear, created by A.A. Milne, has been banned from social media sites after bloggers compared him to China’s president Xi Jinping.
Images of the ‘bear of very little brain’ as well as any mention of his Chinese name ‘Little Bear Winnie’ have been censored from social media platform Weibo.
Winnie the Pooh stickers have also been removed from the gallery on the popular messaging site.
Comparisons between Communist leader Xi and Pooh first emerged in 2013, when a photo of Pooh and Tigger alongside a snap of Xi and Barack Obama went viral.
