Welsh-speak­ing DJ ‘joked about ter­ror­ism’

A BBC ra­dio DJ has been sus­pended for al­legedly mak­ing jokes about TER­ROR­ISM.

An­drew Thomas, 50, is ac­cused of swear­ing and mak­ing re­marks about ter­ror at­tacks while on stage at the Gwyl Nol a Mlan mu­sic fes­ti­val in Llan­grannog, West Wales.

Shocked mem­bers of the au­di­ence com­plained to the BBC, who launched an in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Mr Thomas – known as Tommo – is an af­ter­noon DJ on Welsh-lan­guage BBC Ra­dio Cymru in Wales. He made his re­marks in Welsh.

One wit­ness said: “He was jok­ing and swear­ing about ter­ror­ism. It wasn’t funny.”

The DJ, who has been taken off air, also works as a sta­dium an­nouncer at Wales’ home foot­ball matches and for the Scar­lets rugby union team in Llanelli.
