Welsh-speaking DJ ‘joked about terrorism’
A BBC radio DJ has been suspended for allegedly making jokes about TERRORISM.
Andrew Thomas, 50, is accused of swearing and making remarks about terror attacks while on stage at the Gwyl Nol a Mlan music festival in Llangrannog, West Wales.
Shocked members of the audience complained to the BBC, who launched an investigation.
Mr Thomas – known as Tommo – is an afternoon DJ on Welsh-language BBC Radio Cymru in Wales. He made his remarks in Welsh.
One witness said: “He was joking and swearing about terrorism. It wasn’t funny.”
The DJ, who has been taken off air, also works as a stadium announcer at Wales’ home football matches and for the Scarlets rugby union team in Llanelli.
