Five held after teen stabbed to death
TWO women and three men have been arrested after a teenager was stabbed to death.
The 19-year-old male was found with stab injuries after police were called to a disturbance in Peckham, south-east London, at around 2am on Tuesday.
Detectives believe the victim was involved in an altercation involving a large group of people outside a nearby venue.
Five people – two men aged 23 and one aged 21, and two 25-year-old women – were arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder.
Witnesses spoke of seeing the teenager “being mobbed” by a crowd.
One woman said: “Some were holding others back and there were glass bottles being thrown.
“There was one boy being mobbed, there was about 10 of them all around him.
“He picked up a plank of wood and was swinging it to try and keep them away.
“The boy who passed away lost his footing and ended up on the floor, and the boys were leaning over the top of him with a knife.”
The five people arrested were taken into custody at a south London police station.
