Man in court for hit ’n’ run cyclist death
A MAN has appeared in court accused of killing a woman on her bike in a suspected hit and run.
Gurparthab Ajay Singh, 26, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court accused of three offences following the death of Vicky Myres, 24, (above) in Timperley, Trafford, on Sunday.
Singh is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road collision and failing to report a road collision.
The defendant, of Wythenshawe, Gtr Manchester, spoke only to confirm his name.
Matthew Treece, prosecuting, said a charge of causing death by dangerous driving, which carries a maximum sentence of 14 years, can only be dealt with at the crown court and asked for the case to be sent there.
Police were called shortly before 7.55am on Sunday to a report of a collision between a cyclist and a VW Polo.
Miss Myres, who was cycling with her boyfriend’s mother, was taken to hospital where she died. SILENT movie legend Charlie Chaplin had sex with more than 2,000 women.
