PREMIER League footie stars re­duce their skills on the pitch by hav­ing TAT­TOOS done, ex­perts have re­vealed.

Boffins claim that body art im­pacts on top play­ers’ per­for­mances and their pow­ers of re­cov­ery.

Dr Ingo Fro­bose, of Cologne’s Ger­man Sports Uni­ver­sity, has urged clubs to ban their play­ers from hav­ing tat­toos – in­sist­ing that the ink is POI­SON­ING inked stars.

The 60-year-old said: “I would ban foot­ballers from be­ing tat­tooed. Clubs take ev­ery lit­tle as­pect of their play­ers’ health se­ri­ously, yet they don’t care about this be­hav­iour at all.

“It would do clubs good if they paid a bit more at­ten­tion to their re­spon­si­bil­i­ties, and the ef­fi­ciency of their stars.
