A SEVEN-year-old boy has died in a suspected arson attack after a house fire in south-east London.
Two women jumped from the first floor of the property in Deptford before firefighters arrived.
They were later taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Victim Joel Urhie’s next of kin have been informed.
Six fire engines and around 35 firefighters tackled the blaze after they were called at 3.25am on Monday.
The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder probe having deemed the fire to be suspicious.
London Fire Brigade said the blaze inside the house was “very severe”, leaving the ground and first floors badly damaged along with the stairs.
Nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution and crews finally brought the fire under control just before 4.50am.

Nadiya, 33, stormed to victory in the 2015 series of The Great British Bake Off but reckons she’d do just as well in another reality TV show.
The successful cook wouldn’t rule out a potential stint in the famous jungle at some point.
And the star baker would happily glug penis smoothies because she said they’re not as bad as you might think.
She said: “I’d be fine in the jungle. When they eat those penis smoothies I’m like, ‘That’s alright. I could eat that’.
“But I’m very happy doing what I’m doing.”
It’s hardly surprising Nadiya isn’t bothered by the thought of supping animal cocks, as she serves up some unusual dishes at home.
Admitting she only spends £40-a-week on food for her family of five, Nadiya added: “If you live like you’ve got an endless pot, you end up with a pot with nothing in it.
“Some weeks I can have so much surplus that I don’t even have to spend anything, or I might just buy yoghurts for packed lunches.
“We eat a lot of offal, too – the kids love tripe, and it’s cheap!
“Their favourite thing at the moment is fish head curry.”
Thanks to her success on Bake Off, Nadiya has become one of TV’s best loved cooks.
