FLAMING IDIOT! Spider-killer burns down house after watching Beeb sci-fi show

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

A MAN who burned down his parents’ house by using a blowtorch to kill spiders had been watching the latest Doctor Who episode, police say.

The BBC sci-fi drama featuring the Time Lady taking on mutant giant spiders in Sheffield has been voted one of the scariest ever.

And after watching the episode a fan in Fresno, California, became freaked out when he saw a nest of black widows.

So he took a blowtorch to the creatures and set them on fire.

But as well as killing the eight-legged critters he accidentally started a blaze that destroyed his mum and dad’s property.

Local media TV station KFSN reported 29 firefighters were called to the house.

The son got out safely, but the home’s attic and second story were severely damaged.

Fire crews were filmed sawing off parts of the roof and cleaning out the garage.

The local force tweeted afterwards: “Please don’t use a blowtorch to kill spiders.”

A source added: “As it stands, our understanding is that he had been watching Doctor Who.

“And he had the bejesus scared out of him.

“We understand now that is why he overreacted somewhat.”
