Join the fun of My Fair Lady in 2018
THE local amateur theatre society, Southport Spotlights, will next year be celebrating 65 years since their first production ‘Lilac Domino’.
Over 90 of their shows have entertained Southport audiences in the past years.
Recently Spotlights have performed shows not associated with the usual fare of amdram groups.
Little Shop of Horrors, Drowsy Chaperone, Sweeney Todd, Sister Act, The Producers and Spamalot are examples.
Spotlights have decided to mark their Sapphire Year by performing the well loved ‘My Fair Lady’.
These more ‘traditional’ musicals are currently enjoying a revival in the West End and proving very popular with the new generation.
The show will be performed at The Little Theatre on Hoghton Street, Southport from February 7 - 10, 2018.
Songs from the show are really well known Wouldn’t It Be Loverly? With a Little Bit Of Luck, The Rain in Spain, I Could Have Danced All Night, On the Street Where You Live, Get Me to the Church on Time, I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face, and more.
The society is now preparing to cast ‘My Fair Lady’.
An introductory talk-up meeting is planned for Monday, September 4 at Greenbank School, Hastings Road, Birkdale 7:30pm.
They are looking for people who can sing, dance or both, and are interested in being part of this fabulous show.
You do not need to be a current member of the society - you will become a member if you’re selected - nor do you need stage experience, Southport Spotlights will welcome you.
If you would like to help backstage or on props, wardrobe or publicity, they would also like you to be involved.
Come to their meeting and become part of this friendly, award winning theatrical group.
