Our famous Fun Dog Show is a real winner
AS SUMMER comes to an end and everyone is thinking about returning to school or work after a break, we at the Animal Centre would like to remind you that we rely entirely on the generous donations made by the public.
It costs around £20,000 per month to keep the Animal Centre up and running, so every penny raised is vital and we really appreciate all the donations we receive, large or small.
Over the last few months I have been amazed and humbled by your generosity.
We recently received a donation of £453.90, which had been raised by Great Crosby Catholic Primary School.
They ran events and held competitions and very kindly nominated us as the charity they wished to donate to.
So, I would to say a big thank you to all involved and hope you had a really good summer holiday!
Additionally, children from the Grove Project brought a donation and food & treats for the cats, whilst visiting the Centre on August 14.
It is always good to see our children taking a keen interest in the animals and it was also fun to see the dogs taking them for a walk!
As autumn approaches I would also like to remind everyone that our Fun Dog Show will be held here at the Animal Centre on Sunday, September 24.
Come on down for a day of doggie activity with all things animal catered for. We have lots of stalls booked and a variety of food outlets to look after both two legged and four legged friends!
The Dog Show we held in May was a huge success and very well attended; please come along and see first-hand what we do and meet some of our animals waiting to find their forever homes.
Finally, as I appear to have been reflecting on the seasons in this article, let’s not forget about winter, or more precisely, Christmas and our Fair to be held at Greenbank High School, Hillside, Southport.
Santa has his usual role booked and although I haven’t bothered counting how many shopping days remain until then (sigh), but please set aside one of them for our Christmas Fair, the date of which has now been officially set as Saturday, December 9.
